The Indispensable Mannequins

When talking about models, most people would quickly think about the famed individuals that you would see on magazine covers and runway shows. Considering how they are constantly exposed in various forms of media, with several models even becoming household names. At that, some people are oblivious to the fact that there are different types of models in the fashion industry. So, there are individuals whom are also rightfully identified as true models even though they are not as famous in the eyes of the public. One type of models that are usually unrecognized by the public but are just as significant to the fashion industry is the fitting model.

In simpler terms, the job of a fitting model is to act as a live mannequin. A fashion designer or a clothes manufacturer will hire them in order to check various details of their fashion pieces when they are worn by actual human beings. The details to be assessed include the drape, the fit, visual appearance and overall design of the item. Naturally, there are male and female fitting models, not to mention there are varieties in sizes as well.

However, there is more to a fitting model’s job than just fitting clothes. They become an integral part to the design process as they provide objective feedback concerning the feel, fit and movement of the garment. This is why it is important to hire fitting models that are not just the right size but are also able to give a clear valuation of what they are hired to fit. Of course, the fitting models Sydney has are highly capable of serving this purpose.
